Hi, my name is Joseph Simmons, Personal Trainer at New York Gym. I am originally from England, but speak Dutch and my Dutch comprehension is at a high level. I take a direct and simple approach to fitness; understanding that commitment and intensity are the two words which result in successfully achieving your fitness goals. Discovering your innate ability and developing this, is where the strong Psychology background and deep sports knowledge work together as the tools leading towards your success’.
I have an interesting sports background, competing in team sports and individual athletic events from school to English National level. I studied Psychology at Degree level at The University of Kent, England; with a focus on Coaching and Motivational Development. During this time I worked at a local gym and achieved my Personal Trainer Certification. With ten years corporate experience and having achieved my post graduate diploma in business with the University of Liverpool, I bring with me an understanding of life’s demands on those who work hard while trying to stay fit and manage a modern lifestyle.
